I have lots of English friends and work colleagues. There are players in the England squad that I genuinely like and admire.
But their media ruins it for them every fucking tournament.
I wouldn’t be surprised if there is already a piece out there plotting “Englands route to the final”.

In terms of squad, they have a great squad. But is it better than the likes of France, Spain or even Portugal ? I don’t think so
To be fair they absolutely battered Uruguay yesterday. Wait… what?
The day the draw was made sky ran a path to the final bit.
The worst thing their media (BBC) ever did was either on the day of a world cup final or a European final where they weren’t participating. Did they show a live text of the game? Nope! Instead they ran a simulation of how England would fare in the final instead, surprise surprise they won!
“route to the final” pieces are harmless, nothing wrong with looking ahead. But this acting like every thing they do is exceptional and clearly ahead of the pack and gives them some unknowable advantage over everyone else is insufferable.
