It was reported a teenage boy was assaulted by another teenager in Mampitts Lane in Shaftesbury at around 7.40pm on Thursday, March 26.
The victim was left with minor facial injuries and the suspect then reportedly left the area in a red Audi A3.
Police constable Allannah Clark, of Dorset Police, said: “We are carrying out an investigation into this incident and I am keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone with information.
“I am also urging any motorists who were in the area around the relevant time to please check their dashcam footage for anything that might assist our enquiries.”
