Their contest with Newcastle United at St James’s Park takes place on a Bank Holiday weekend with various fixture amendments announced by the Premier League.

But the Toon v Seagulls battle remains unchanged at 3pm on Saturday, May 2.

That is likely to please many heading to Tyneside for the game.

It increases the chances of being able to do the trip in one day, without an overnight stay, although many fans will no doubt still be tempted by a full weekend in Newcastle.

Early indications are that rail travel will be a challenge for those heading between Sussex and Tyneside that weekend.

Albion fans impressed the locals in the North East with their numbers, volume and general attitude when they visited Sunderland for the recent 1-0 win.

That result extended a decent recent record in that part of the world, given that they won twice at Newcastle last season.

Danny Welbeck scored decisive goals in both the Premier League and FA Cup, with the latter among the most enjoyable games of the 2024-25 campaign.
