Police launched a major search operation at a property in Broad Avenue in Evington, Leicester, including the demolition of its extension, after Gary Piatek disappeared in April 2024.
Two people, including a Bournemouth man, have been charged with the murder of Mr Piatek, who had lived in a property in Broad Avenue which he inherited from his parents, a court previously heard.
Leicestershire Police said on Friday no human remains have been found after weeks of searching at the house.
Detective Inspector Mike Chandler, of Leicestershire Police, said: “Though we hoped our inquiries at the property would help us establish what happened to Mr Piatek, we have sadly not located his remains.
“I want to reassure his friends and family that the police investigation continues in the hope of locating him and understanding further what happened.
“Several people have been charged in connection with his death and the case is progressing through the courts.
“I’d like to thank residents of Broad Avenue and the local community for their co-operation and understanding while our investigation was focused in their area.”
The force said the property has been deemed to be structurally safe and will be handed over to Leicester City Council now that searches have concluded.
