During Tottenham’s defeat to Nottingham Forest, James Maddison was spotted showing a great deal of passion on the sidelines.

Maddison remains sidelined following an ACL injury last summer, and he has yet to be involved for the Lilywhites this season.

What position would Spurs be in NOW if James Maddison did not get injured?

The midfielder has been forced to watch on as Spurs flirt with the possibility of relegation, and you can see how much it is frustrating him.

Tottenham could seriously do with a leader like Maddison in the team, but for now, they are having to make do without him as he remains on the sidelines.

James Maddison was spotted getting so angry at Tottenham’s latest defeat

Tom Barclay noticed that James Maddison was often spotted jumping out of his seat and showing so much passion as Tottenham lost to Nottingham Forest.

Maddison has not been able to pull on a Spurs shirt since August after injuring his ACL in a pre-season game against Newcastle United.

He has been watching the whole season unfold from the stands, and it’s clear that Tottenham’s bad form is now really hurting him.

Following the weekend’s defeat, Barclay told The Tottenham Way: “But I think that my final comment will be about James Maddison. I was watching him quite a lot.

“So where we are is, so where the press box is at Spurs, if you can imagine, fans, if they can imagine where the tunnel is, where the two managers sit in the dugouts, we’re to the sort of left of it behind quite a long way.

“The players sat, the injured players sat to the right of the Spurs dugout, and I only really noticed that today because Maddison kept getting up.

🤔 Is this a realistic Tottenham team for the Championship?

“He was wearing a sort of beige cap and a sort of Burberry top. But you could just tell, even from as far away as we were, the passion that he had.

“It must be so frustrating for him that he’s not been able to contribute. But you could just tell by his body language how invested he was in the game.”

Tudor issued a positive update on Maddison’s return last week, saying: “Yeah, Maddison is already doing some interesting things with the ball and sprinting, he is positive.”
