[Matt Law] on Rosenior’s tactics: You can tell they [CFC players] don’t believe in it. The way they’re not carrying out instructions, how they’re not really recovering from anything tells you they don’t actually believe in the way they’re being asked to play

    >It’s a massive rookie error [by Rosenior.] The subs [vs PSG] signalled he’d given up on that match & was thinking about the next… I sat there against PSG, almost stunned that I could watch a Chelsea team just give up on a match. Never really seen it before.

    >you’ve got a whole group of players who have never played CL alongside PL before. You’ve got a head coach who’s never coached PL & CL side by side. Zero experience in their coaching staff, both for Rosenior, his backroom staff & the squad. So, wake up call.

  2. Matt Law could tell me the sky is blue and the grass is green and I’d still question it.

  3. Rosnoir isn’t our worst problem but he certainly isn’t the answer. The sooner we move on from him, the better.

    Owners are cunts.

  4. Can you tell? What was happening the first 15 games? There’s a REALLY REALLY simple explanation for everything. We played some decent ball against PSG for 70’ then a bum backup and some other bums made some crucial mistakes and the team’s confidence absolutely crumbled. The season was turned on its head. Simple stuff really

Matt Law is a fucking parasite to this club btw.

It really doesn’t matter who we have as manager. We could have prime Mourinho coaching them and we’d still be terrible because the players are so so bad. Might as well sign another 16-20 year old winger when our best defender right now is Chalobah.

Sadly, I have to agree. The eye test shows a distinct lack of ideas on the field, both in attack and defense.

Freedom is good, but these crop of players respond better to a system, especially for defense.

  7. It is systemic failure. The players have lost faith in the manager and the board. Imagine seeing sanchez benched for no reason. They know that decisions are not based on merit but on other factors. Further, I am sure the players feel that Liam is just a mouthpiece for the board and has no real authority. Also, he is clearly not coaching to our player’s strengths and is just setting them up for failure. His tactics should help hide our backlines weaknesses but instead is just exposing them.

  8. Did they stop believing in Enzo’s tactics after that Arsenal draw or what happened that time for them to become so shit all of a sudden?

  9. Did Rosenior not say that he was basically going to ask the players to play Maresca tactics to end the season with maybe some minor tweaks?

I’m not saying I’m a Rosenior fan but this smells like BS

Matt Law’s amateur psychiatry guest spots are by far the stupidest and most irritating feature of that podcast.

  11. The players dont want to commit to a manager who will be sacked anytime a club goes into a rough patch. Maresca had the team glued together still despite a bad spell of form. Poch had the team glued together on that run at the end of his last season, yet he was also let go. It has to be exhausting as a player to be constantly adapting to new systems only for the manager to be sacked after a season or two at best.

No top manager wants to come to this team knowing that they are coming into such a hostile situation with the board and wont get the support they’ll be asking for.

We’re stuck with guys like Rosenior until the board changes, and the players can see right through all the bullshit.

  12. “You can tell they don’t believe in it” is no better than some fuckbox on here shitting on stuff

    This isn’t analysis.
