Juan Cabal has never quite managed to convince since he joined Juventus, and the defender is now attracting interest from Crystal Palace.

The 25-year-old has played 19 times in all competitions this season. He has two goals in Serie A but Luciano Spalletti has left him on the bench in each of the last five games in the league.

Earlier in the campaign, he was nursing a hamstring injury. This came only a few months after he had recovered from a serious knee injury too. Those injuries have impacted his progress at the Turin club.

The Colombian, who arrived in Turin from Hellas Verona in 2024, is likely to be on his way out of the Italian side. Crystal Palace have quickly emerged as a suitor for him.

Eagles make initial contact

TuttoSport report about Cabal’s uncertain future, amidst indications that Juve will sell multiple players this summer.

The defender will be tempted by a move to the Premier League, with Crystal Palace interested. Fulham had also tried to sign him from Verona but they aren’t in the race for him right now.

Oliver Glasner’s side have made initial, exploratory contact and are evaluating how much they may have to pay for Cabal.

At Crystal Palace, the former Verona player can unite with Colombia internationals like Jefferson Lerma and Daniel Munoz. The duo can prove to be key factors, especially if they try to convince Cabal about a transfer.

Crystal Palace will hope of resurgence

During his time at Verona, Cabal was quite a promising and versatile player and that is why even Inter Milan were trying to sign him. Due to injuries, his stock has clearly dropped and he does seem like a shadow of his former self.

There could be positives for Crystal Palace, though. At Juve, Cabal has played at left wing-back, left centre-back and at left-back. In the past, he has also played in midfield and the Colombian is also at a decent age.

That is why he still has quite a bit of time to turn things around. The Bianconeri paid around €11m to sign him and that’s why the London side may not have to pay a lot.

The only sticking point is Cabal’s fitness and that will determine if he turns his career around. Crystal Palace would obviously want a thorough medical should a transfer get to that stage.
