Two Brentford stars were left bloodied when they stopped a racist attack yesterday in London.

Brentford‘s 0-0 draw with Leeds in the Premier League was overshadowed by what happened following the game as The Mirror report that two Brentford players are thought to have been left bloodied after stepping in to stop an alleged racially motivated attack.

Reports state this occurred in Richmond at around 2am with neither player suffered any injuries that needed further treatment as both were described as being completely healthy yesterday despite being “bloodied” according to witnesses.

GB News report that the players had been permitted to arrange their own transport from the Yorkshire venue rather than travelling with the team which is why the pair found themselves in the area.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said:

“Police attended a report of an assault on Queen’s Road, Richmond at around 02:00hrs on Sunday, 22 March. Officers engaged with the victim. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made at this time.”

No update has been made by the club following the incident which could have put both players in serious danger.

Brentford are only three points off the top five after 31 games and as the international break has now arrived, the squad have time to recover and focus on the task ahead as they aim for European football.

The club’s first game after the international break will be a clash against Everton at the Gtech Community Stadium as they aim to climb above Chelsea and Liverpool
