Nathan Baker, 34, and of Craigmoore Avenue in Bournemouth, appeared in Poole Magistrates’ Court on March 12.

Baker admitted to 15 counts of theft from a shop, amounting to a total value of £3,789.11, from numerous shops in Bournemouth and Poole between October 16 and March 12.

In his largest haul, Baker swiped £1,253 worth of goods from Boots in Poole on March 12.

Baker was further found guilty of four counts of assault by beating and one count of criminal damage to a property of value under £5,000, namely damaging a body worn video fastener of unknow value.

He was handed a 16-week prison sentence and a two-year criminal behaviour order, banning him from entering any Next store in Dorset and from entering Castlepoint Shopping Park, including its carparks.

He was also told he must leave any business or shop premises when requested to leave by an employee, security staff or other representative of the company.

Baker was also ordered to pay £1,400 in compensation.
