If he leaves Mbappe and Bellingham out, and plays Valverde and Brahim.. then yes.

If he plays Mbappe, then Madrid are not beating Bayern.

I have not yet seen him win a matchup against a world class team where the opposing coach didn’t lose their mind. Bayern and Kompany are a world class team, and I don’t think that Kompany will lose his mind like Guardiola did.

If Real Madrid advance, then (barring a catastrophic collapse) Arbeloa has earned the right to, at the very least, see out the season, and the earlier losses can be chalked up to him getting up to speed. Depending on how La Liga finishes, I may not even be opposed to him taking Madrid into next season.

I got downvoted to oblivion when I said Arbeloa knows what he is doing. People were too stuck on Xabi.

  4. Kompany’s Bayern are a very different beast, they have a lot of flair, but also roughness to them like Luis Diaz, so logic dictates they won’t just roll over so easily like City did.
I expect a very tough set of games and frankly with a full team, I wouldn’t be shocked, if Bayern beat us relatively comfortably, but we’ll see the days before what kikd of team we can expect to face
