English: Borussia Dortmund are closing in on Nils-Ole Book as their new Sporting Director, one day after parting ways with Sebastian Kehl. The 40-year-old has risen from scout to Sporting Director at second-division SV Elversberg since 2017, building the club from regional league level into a respected Bundesliga contender. He's known for unearthing talent — deals involving Nick Woltemade and Paul Wanner among his highlights. Talks are advanced but a release agreement with Elversberg still needs to be sorted, as Book only renewed his contract there in October. His likely successor at Elversberg is David Blacha, unless he follows Book to Dortmund.
Als Perlentaucher bekannt (u.a.

unexpected
Even more suprising than Kehls dismissal
Any one know if he any good?
I kinda like it. If we wanna have success we need to be able to find Talent early. If we do what Bayern or other Clubs do we wont have success since their resources are way bigger. Even if Talent leaves once big, we gonna get a good cashout plus a couple decent seasons before, plus this ll help us build a warchest.
I figure one or two super successful seasons even if lucky and we might be able to hold more Talent, rather than every Superstar wanting to leave. Good scouts and Transfers plus a good trainer making more out of less overall is the foundation to long term success imo.
And he’s the dude that knows who to get at a somewhat top club where the interesting players will always be more visible than the ones he previously aimed for? Obviously give him a chance and all but my gut says we’re getting slightly underrated yet still just mediocre Bundesliga talent and get worse next season (not counting the potential splash the young guys Kehl got before he left could make).
