Last time someone posted that clip of Gonzalo getting into the box, and they called it "great movement" and said he pulled defenders and created space.

So… have you watched the 3rd goal against Atletico Madrid?

Mbappe literally dragged multiple defenders with him and opened up a huge pocket of space for Vini, who had been getting swarmed by 4–5 defenders every time he touched the ball up to that point. That goal doesn't happen without Mbappe's off-ball movement.

Funny how "creating space" only gets praised when it fits a certain narrative 🤡

  1. Bro I defend Mbappe and disagree that we are better without him. But this is literally one single run of dozens and dozens, like chill its just a run.

  2. Hold up, let me get this straight, your argument against people’s criticism is basically:

“yeah, what you guys were asking him to do actually worked out the one time he tried, take that!”

Idk bro, that doesn’t sound as good of a point as you probably thought, but that’s just me I guess ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Can we stop this mbappe vs anti-mbappe rivalry in this sub?it doesnt benefit us the fans or the club in anything.if you are an mbappe fan or vini fan etc theres multiple fan pages in ig or tiktok you can go and glaze anybody youd like.this is the real madrid sub.this “mbappe war” we have here is childish behaviour

  4. What do you think you’re proving with this? Yes, he did the right thing here, but too many times in the past he has not done that. People were right to criticize that.

I’m not gonna lie, I was genuinely surprised he did that. I can see he only refuses to do that when the defense is already in the area because he wants space AFTER the ball gets to him, for him its not worth running forward if he’s already in the area.

This either need to change (more runs more often) or Madrid needs to play further deep to draw lines up a bit.

Good play from him. I’m keen to see how he reintegrates into the team with the great form of Vini. Brahim is also very solid at his new role in 442

If you watched the whole match Mbappe was lazy af as usual. Brahim helps the team more with his defensive commitment and general unselfishness

  7. That goal is all Trent ngl💯 what a season changing player alongside Valverde. We lacking threat from our right side since the start of the season. It’s so refreshing to have those 2

Hey guys ! Look ! Our 9 did his job for once.
It happens so rarely that it needs to be praised.
He’s only being paid around 70m per year, but at least he can score goal when the odds are non existent and win the golden boot.
Who cares about winning the UCL and la Liga when we can have a golden boot player in our rank.

  9. He need to focus on playing footbal only and he wilk wun Golden Balls( not only one)

  10. I’ll never understand any of the people on this sub that say we’re better without him

  11. He gotta do this again and again and again and then tell me how many more goals we score because of his positioning.

His major criticism is he doesn’t do this enough or is stacked on top of another attacker. Still got a lot to learn as central attacker but if he does this more often than he stacks on the left side or is waiting for the ball on top of the box instead of trying to cut into the gaps, then we will be extra dangerous.

That’s why I would always say fuck trying to force mbappe to play a role he inherently can’t play. I suggest we either bench one and start one cause clearly they don’t play well together

  13. Ill-Ruin2198 on

He played well this game, but this one run to open the defense doesn’t define that he was shit with his positioning from the last matches he was in. Last game against City, he was outside the box when that last goal was scored. Mbappe fans are at it again lol

Fairly simple: for Gonzalo, that’s his usual modus operandi. He draws the CBs all the time. For Mbappé, this one is an exceptional run despite being what he should be doing all the time as a CF. If he can start doing it often, no criticism.

  15. This is what he should be doing by DEFAULT. Good thing he didn’t occupy Vini’s zone otherwise we would never see that shot from Vini

  16. Available-Bread-2300 on

We all support the same club at the end of the day and want to see Madrid win. It’s not unreasonable for fans to expect Mbappe to make those runs which will benefit both him and the team.

He still has a lot to improve to be an all round player. Sometimes it feels like he doesn’t want to get dirty. I know his height is an issue but he can still try to go for few duels when the goalkeeper kicks it long, like how Jude goes for it. Even yesterday when we were down to 10 men, initially he was helping the defence at right back but then later moved to centre and didn’t put any effort to close down the atletico players taking the shot. Jude and Tchouameni were trying to close them. These are minor things which he should be doing when the team is trying to win a derby with a man down.

I’m here. 1 out of 100, good job Mbappé, he should paid the most… Oh wait.

  18. happy_monk_95 on

He doesn’t do that consistently, that’s the problem. Doing that once in a while is not acceptable at a Club like Real Madrid
