  1. That’s not an admission, that’s a fact of scheduling. An admission would be he can’t handle the schedule because he’s bad at his job.

And there I was thinking it was because our owners don’t know what they’re doing and neither does our manager.

Listen our summer set us back in terms of fitness, but he can’t be doing this shit now. Our poor form is down to a combination of poor decisions from the coach, poor performances from the players, poor recruitment from the owners, and a little sprinkling of bad luck. That’s it.

  4. Two things can be true:
    1. Chelsea squad building has been shambolic.
    2. The schedule is so overloaded that even a giga squad is going to have injury issues with how many competitions they’re competing in.

If only they knew about this schedule at the start of the season. I mean it must have come as quite a shock.

Now the quite impressive honeymoon period is over I get a feeling that he’s a bit laid back and uninspiring, not massively dissimilar to the feeling I’m getting about Arne Slot.
Unfortunately for him he’s at a much less patient club than the Dutchman.

  7. He’s not admitting it, he’s holding it up as an excuse. I really hate how all these articles use the word “admit” when it’s something that would make the person look better.

Didn’t they have about 52 players at the start of the season or some similar silly number?

  9. Chelsea have no real interest in being a serious club. They only seem interested in buying potential. Team building based on actual analysis and understanding of how pieces fit together is beyond them.
