As with the Fofana one a lot of these ain’t actually the CBs fault but still these guys are absolutely ass and need to be improved. This position needs a revamp.

We need to sign Diomande and Murrilo this summer! colwill, Sarr and Chalobah/Fofana can be back up. Sell Tosin, Disasi, Badishille (maybe loan him for a year to increase his value)
The only CB’s we should be keeping are Colwill, Josh, Hato and Sarr. All of the others can get binned off. We need at least 2 GOOD CB’s in this next window.
All I could think when I saw the Fofana post was that a similar one could be made for Chalobah but it would be slated by the people who praise Cobham grads and can’t see them do wrong, thanks for pointing this out.
Fofana has good moments, but is more often lazy than not. Chalobah has some good moments, but they’re often good recoveries covering for a mistake in positioning or a missed tackle. Tosin can’t run and doesn’t have the positioning to make up for it. Badiashile looks like he tries more than others but doesn’t have the positioning or timing in his tackle to do anything. Josh, Sarr, and Hato all make a combination of these mistakes but at least have the excuse of being young and only having these other bozos to learn from.
All of our CBs are far worse than deserve to be starting for this club, it’s ridiculous.
Chalobah needs to leave
Fofana cost £70million, and is being paid around £200,000 a week; Chalobah cost nothing. Now, does that make Chalobah good enough to start for us, or does it make him a better player? Obviously not, but it does give us different expectations for both players. Why can’t people realise this.
I’d actually keep Trev but only on the basis that he’s 4th or 5th choice
Bring in an experienced CB to partner with Colwill and have Senesi and Chalobah as backup options. Loan out Josh, Sarr and Anselmino for another season and sell Fofana and Badiashile. I honestly don’t mind keeping Tosin as 5th choice if it means keeping Palmer in a good mood
The problem with this type of compilation when they’re 5 minutes long is that it’s padded out with such innocuous incidents when the player is barely at fault or when it’s a minor mistake far from goal that doesn’t even lead to anything. This gives the impression that he’s made dozens of mistakes which led to chances but when you actually examine each individual clip, that’s not the case. I’m not going to comment on every clip in the whole thing but just in the first minute there are 2 instances (both in pre season games) where Chalobah just gives away a foul inside the opposition half which then lead to nothing. There’s one where Chalobah presses someone deep into their half, their player plays it back and the ball is switched, how is that Chalobahs fault?

If you don’t bring your defenders forward into attacks so much then they aren’t caught out of position so often.
The whole recycling the ball until you get an easy chance is the reasoning for this. Been an issue since Tuchel. All it does is mean both teams are waiting for a mistake but the underdogs will always have a more resolute defense because they’re expecting to be under the kosh
His positioning is awful. Too often get caught out of position miles away from goal
At this point, keep Reece, Enzo, Caicedo, Neto, Pedro and Estevao. Sell all of the rest, and give away Delap for free.

Part of it is the talent. Challobah,Fofana,Tosin and Badishille aren’t good enough talent wise. But its also the coaching you can’t teach athleticism but you can teach positioning and spacing and they either aren’t getting it or don’t understand what to do. Our best defenders in the past Terry, Carvalho and Silva were never super athletic but they understood where to be in order to defend well. All had high football IQ and none of the current guys possess that

Our strikers and midfielders are good , i think most of the goals that we conceded were because of the defensive mistakes , no concentration,no confidence, doubtful thoughts. 🤷♂️🤷♂️

Regardless of how everyone feels about him, even though he’s done a decent job, his quality is that of a squad player. I’d happily keep him as a squad player too, but as an academy product, so we’ll make decent profit off him. We’ll need that to help fund centerhalf reinforcments, as I’ll be very surprised if we’re able to get anywhere near book value for Disasi, Fofana and/or Badiashile sales.

Chalobah is a mid-table CB and only the delusional supporters thought otherwise.
Fofana is the biggest disappointment by far due to his newly-found fitness and increased sample size. Chelsea won’t be able to get off his contract, which expires in 2029.
We need to stop fighting for players just because we feel sorry for them, people downvoted the other day because I said Chaolbah is not him, He will have the odd good game, thats not good enough here. We need CONSISTENCY. The most important positions on the pitch we need consistency in is defenders and GK. if you have that you can win anything. Imagine Caicedo and them in midfield with actual defenders behind them. Thats what they need to figure out and they need to do it in the summer.
Okay fofana’s mistakes video were FAR worse than this. OP lowkey got lazy with this one and added ANYTHING that Chalobah was within 20 meters of.
Like that corner, Delap lost his man and Chalobah is trying to jump from a stationary position which coaches should know you can’t jump as high as if you’re running.
Chalobah is a Chelsea academy player which comes with some benefits to us. He should be a Chelsea player but he should not be starting every game. He isn’t a TOP CB. But I’m fine with that in certain situations.
Every great team needs someone like this (decent bench guys who won’t make a fuss about being there). But management should not be relying on him to start every game.
This is terrible, there are clips in here from pre-season friendlies just to pad out the time.

Frustrating thing about Chalobah is he still plays like he’s 19 or 20 while being one of the most experienced players in the squad. I’ve not seen him improve his game from season to season.
chalobah has 5x as many minutes for us as Fofana since lazy Wes signed and Fofana still has a worse low light compilation.
