John Johnson, 33, and of Purbeck Road in Bournemouth, appeared in Poole Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, March 12.

The court heard Johnson stole goods from Greggs eight times between Friday, January 30 and Thursday, February 19.

The total value of goods amounted to £61.25, the price of roughly 46 sausage rolls, give or take a few crumbs.

The court also heard Johnson had stolen £9 worth of goods from Tesco in Bournemouth on January 26.

After a spree that left him way “pasty” the point of no return, Johnson was handed a year-long ban from all Greggs stores and Tesco stores in Dorset from March 12.

He was also ordered to complete 10 rehabilitation activity days and to pay £9 in compensation.
