Uruguay have officially unveiled their new kits for the 2026 World Cup, with a strong focus on their footballing history:
• Inspired by Montevideo’s Art Deco architecture and the Estadio Centenario
• Home kit keeps the classic sky blue, with gold details representing historic achievements
• Typography references the inaugural 1930 World Cup, won by La Celeste

This follows FIFA once again approving Uruguay’s 4-star crest for the tournament, formally authorized in 1992, with recognition dating back to the 1920s.

  1. Makes sense since the 2 Olympics they won before the world cup was created were by fifa

  2. Adidas has been wiping the floor with Nike when it comes to the World Cup kits but this one is very nice!

  3. Do they have to get the 4 stars approved for every new kit or for every World Cup?

  4. Home kit gorgeous, perfect, no notes. Away kit like a bad MLS alternate. I think I just really don’t like center badge kits, and the designs don’t do it for me.

  5. LochNessMonsterMunch on

In case anyone is interested, the Home Nations (Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland) refused to take part in the 1924 and 1928 football tournaments because of a dispute with Fifa over amateur payments.

  6. This really shouldn’t be re-legislated every single international tournament. They allowed them to wear 4 stars, it’s done now.

    (Nice design though!)
