The Glovis Stella is a blue-and-white cargo ship, almost 200 metres long and around 35 metres wide, and can carry almost 20,000 tonnes.

Flying under the flag of the Republic of Korea, she was built in 2016 at the Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries in Yeongam, South Korea.

She can carry 7,400 cars and travel up to 20 knots in speed and operates on a roll on, roll off basis.

She regularly travels the globe, but its Europe to Middle East service was cancelled this year due to the current conflict in Iran, according to Stena Glovis’s 2026 sailing schedule.

Glovis Stella is part of the fleet operated by the joint venture of Korea-based Hyundai Glovis and Sweden-based Stena, established in 2019, called Stena Glovis.

The fleet includes 84 pure car and truck carriers, shipping five million cars annually.

Southampton port handles more than 500,000 cars a year.
