The 4 2 2 2 worked coz we had people in the midfield, we have full backs bombing forward and wingers outwide most times so obviously our midfield will be open

I don’t get why slot insists on having both MacAllister and Gravenberch play so far forward. They end up clogging the box for our attackers and then we’re compromised on the counter.
Use a double pivot and have one stay back every attack. They also might not get run into the ground doing that.

Man Klopp gets talked about like his sides were just counter attacking and direct but his sides dominated possession AND were very dynamic, while having much more structure in midfield than whatever the fuck this is. Even last season we had a better structure. It’s like he changed entirely what Macca and Grav do and refusing to admit its an issue.

Slot has been a disappointment this season but so have been a lot of the players.
UCL or Big game = they run, they fight, they play well.

Almost every single game,sick of seeing it. The midfield is crap from an attacking perspective too,even the centre backs passing out from the back. We’d have a midfielder in spaces and we refuse to give it to them,rather go around the sides only to cut in anyway. Same with the midfield,szoboslai / wirtz made some good forward runs at times and they just never received the pass, Jones keeps hold of it or lasses it back,McAllister runs down blind alleys there’s only really gravenberch that will try those wall passes off another player.

Sometimes I wonder if they watch the tape after games. There is no way that you see the same mistakes all season and not try to fix them. It’s either Slot doesn’t know how or the team doesn’t. They won the league last year. So I’m pretty sure we have a good group of guys with enough football IQ to be able to make adjustments. That is unless they were told to do otherwise.
Side Note: All our non-EPL signings have since figured out and are almost up to speed on the difference between playing EPL vs. where they used to play. So why hasn’t our gaffer figured it out yet?

It drives me absolutely mental. In possession Macca pushes forward into the next line and we cant build out of the back because of the gap, and he gets in Wirtz’ way. Then out of possession the two sixes sit deep and there’s a gulf between the lines again. Been like this all season. Whatever Slot is trying to do, it’s not working and I simply don’t understand why he hasn’t changed it.
