They have been abusing him relentless in his Instagram comments for the past two days. Horrible horrible fans.

  2. Oh for gods sake please tell me this isn’t true, lad just lost his fucking dad honestly people need to get a grip.

  3. Turkish fans for the unfortunate clash with Osimhen that resulted in him being unable to play I assume?

That’s fucked up, how can you even think for a second that it was done on purpose

Galatasaray fans are absolutely deranged. Just had a look in his instagram comment section. Other than monkey emojies theyre also warning him not to come near Turkey, saying they pray he doesnt wake up tomorrow, etc.

Whats the logic with racism btw? Black player accidentaly injure your teams black player and your answer to that is to be racist. Makes sense that.

Jeez just looked at the comments. It’s not like this was Ramos against Salah which was seemingly far more intentional than Ibou bumping into Osihmen

Polite reminder to us all, you can easily report Instagram comments

Whether it does anything, who knows but we can at least try

  7. Strong statement from the club. Hopefully someone actually listens.

The abuse the lad has been getting is disgusting. He’s had a tough few months and this level of depravity thrown into the mix must be incredibly hard to deal with.

These platforms need to do a lot more than just allowing you to report individual comments. You could be scrolling for ages through his recent posts and it’s hate and vitriol the whole way down.

  8. I’m sure their own BLACK player who they are so called defending will be so happy with their racist comments towards our BLACK player, absolute degenerates that’s all to be said about that type of person.

  9. It’s so disheartening when the most fragile of egos have the loudest of voices.

Love seeing such a strong statement from the club, but would also love for there to be actual consequences for those dirtbags.

Strong statement. It’s obviously not acceptable in any way. Part of the problem is that a lot of these “people” are not actually real. The other part of it is a problem of the accessibility of the Internet. As long as a platform exists that allows for anybody on the planet with an Internet connection to post something or create bots that will post things online, this is going to be a problem.

I’ve worked in tech for many years and this problem is unfortunately not easily solved. As soon as measures are put in place to prevent it, workarounds are implemented. The surface area of a site like Instagram is so large that you can bet your bottom dollar that every state-of-the-art piece of technology is going to almost immediately take aim at it.

The solution of every player, club etc getting off of these platforms conflicts with the business interests of the club, which realistically (and tragically) will always come first.

I don’t know where that leaves us, TBH. If there was a simple solution, it would’ve been done by now. By reacting drastically you give these accounts and people power, by not reacting at all you run the risk of being perceived as compliant or accepting of the comments.

It’s unfortunately a by-product of the existence of the Internet, in my opinion. Which I absolutely hate. I hope that some people a lot smarter than me soon come up with some sort of solution, because right now I can’t see any.

I think Galatasaray’s tactic was to target and provoke Ibou, seeing the attempts to jump into hime to try to claim fouls and penalties. This was compounded by their manager’s comments after the game criticising the ref for allowing Ibou to ‘get away with anything’.

One thing we know about the Turks, they are stunningly bad losers, in very unpleasant ways, like this racist attack.

  12. They have black players in their team. Any racist abuse directed at Konate should also be viewed as being directed to their players as well.

    Some people are scumbags

Seems to be mainly Galatasaray fans on IG abusing him which is completely out of order. But the abuse are players & coaches have got this season from our own so called fans has been terrible too. Social media companies really need to get a grip on this.

This is so sad. I don’t have the right words for how awful and disgusting the Gala fans are being. Social media has really allowed people to be vile toward someone while hiding behind a keyboard. Disgusting.

People are sick. It’s just a FUCKING game. And this social media abuse should be stopped already. It’s insane how many people can offend you without any consequeces. We NEED harsh punishment for this kind of behave.

  16. There is a reason why basically every other Turkish club fanbase hates these cunts

  17. It’s just turks guys. You just have to lower your expectations and then you won’t be bothered

This quote by Mike Tyson is so true – “Social media made y’all way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it”.

Most of these racists would run away in real life if confronted. I bet most of these people wouldn’t even dare square up to Konate.

I would argue that Liverpool fans are no better than the Turks. Look at all the abuse being leveled at Slot before you get on your high horse.

  20. Being racist to one of our black players because he accidentally injured one of their black players.

They need their heads testing. They are the lowest of the low. Bottom of the barrel. They are an embarrassment. They need to be banned from football. Disgusting people. Thick bastards.
