Gerard Martin: "Atletico or Spurs? Whichever opponent it is, it will be tough, but it's true that if we face Atlético, there will be an extra motivation for revenge, and we have a strong desire for that. We will continue to advance."

He was massive this game. Literally too, that towering header assist for the second goal was sublime

He is 100 percent on point with this.

I still remember this sub didn’t give him a chance.

Really when he made his first start in the 4-2 Osasuna loss I was un sure if he was ready to play at Barca level. But I knew there was a reason Flick selected him and gave him mins. He developed so much last season and now converting him to a CB was the most recent big change which has made him CLASS.

Amazing defensive and absolutely beautiful with the ball at his feet, what an incredible rise he has had. Im so happy he is succeeding here from the once non stop hate he got. 💙❤️

  4. Clearly the best partner we have currently for Cubarsi. Still would like to get a good left footed cb though

  5. Martin was class today. Unreal presence of mind during the assistant, great pass leading to Fermin’s goal

I was the biggest hater of Martin and I wanted him out ASAP, but boy did he prove me wrong! One of our most reliable players this season.

You will still find some drones bringing up his inter Milan game to downplay whatever he has done so far in this season.

Like seriously how can they expect a player to be comfortable with flick defensive system within a week, if anything he made us comeback with 2 assists in the 2nd leg.

He’s my favourite player this season. Dude made a massive improvement. Everyone was mocking him. I was so happy when he got a personal signed ac milan jersey from Paolo Maldini his role model for his bday.💙♥️🫡. Grow stronger gerard Maldini you’re a gem!

Vastly improved skill wise, and seems to really enjoy that CB position. All that is left is for him to be a little more fearless, and menacing when facing opponents.

  10. I didn’t expect anything from him in 2024 (generally speaking). He’s proven most of us wrong.

Every technical thing he lacks, he makes up for with his intelligence. We’ve got three highly intelligent CB’s with magnificent passing capabilities.

People don’t speak enough about his linebreaking passes. That Fermin goal doesn’t happen if Maldini doesn’t play that ball to Raphinha. See so many players try the safe pass but he’s very progressive and always finds a man
