Obviously, they’ve been cheating and getting away with it since the mid 90s

So many “what ifs” from that era of Spurs cross my mind a lot. What if we won the league title in 2015/16 or 2016/17. What if that Champions League final went our way? What if we backed Pochettino the summer we signed no one? Don’t even get me started on players we could’ve signed but didn’t.

It’s honestly disgusting. The people in charge have obviously not dwelled on the future ramifications it’s had on so many clubs/players/trophy’s. I hate NFFC don’t mind everton but they must be livid that they got point deductions imho for less. With City being the forefront on most fans minds we forget that Chelsea were the original plastic club and bought (cheated) their way to victory

Don’t worry we are now de-facto 2017 PL Champions and 2015 Carabao Cup Winners.

It’s become increasingly clear and obvious that the rules are interpreted and enforced in one way for a select group of clubs and in a completely different way for the rest. This is true domestically and internationally. Deterrence is overwhelming focused on punishing smaller clubs effectively deeming others to be too big to be held accountable.

I’m sure that this was the extent of their cheating and their bent oligarch owner didn’t break any other rules. Definitely no payments to anyone else, for example…

Martin Tyler is such a drag these days. Brings any match he commentates on down to his level. Should’ve retired a few years ago.

It’s easy to talk about and write policy briefs on the topic of deterring reckless or illegal financial practices within the sport. It’s something else entirely to actually do something about it. Pretty clear these governing bodies have very little desire to make serious changes.

Insane they got a fine and no points deduction. Genuinely insane.

Eject them from the Premier League. If you cheat to stay in it, you can fuck right off

Have you met Daniel Levy?

Just to quote:
“People have actually lost out. If Chelsea hadn’t been able to complete some of these deals, maybe the seven-point gap to Tottenham Hotspur in 2016-17 wouldn’t have been so great. Maybe Spurs could actually have won the title, a prospect that obviously has considerable relevance right now.
The recent history of the club being changed could have drastically affected the present.”

We should be handed the Premier League title for 2017. You cannot have a club that deliberately cheated, signed players as part of that cheating, who won them multiple trophies during that period and allow those trophies to stand. Otherwise why doesn’t every other club do exactly the same, and just take a fine further down the line.

A slap on the wrist and a pinky promise to not do it again. I know saying financial doping is out of control in football isn’t exactly a revolutionary take but how depressing is it that a club can blatantly cheat and get away with it?

I don’t understand why is money illegal?
