So as it’s St Patrick’s Day I thought I’d celebrate the Newcastle – Ireland connection. Some players I can think of from Ireland and Northern Ireland in the modern era are:

Anyone missing? And who’s your top three? I’d go for:

Out of that lot I think only Shay Given would get in the current side. Although I would like to see Alex Murphy get more chances as looks decent. Still baffles me that Ciaran Clark used to start over Schar during the dark ages too.
