Would you take Julian Nagelsmann after Guardian leaves? I feel like many people aren't considering Nagelsmann for the City job, I think he can be a great fit
Can fit like a glove… his teams are known for possession and able to have high scoring matches. He does love a 4-2-3-1 formation or 4-3-3. Does love a lone striker but has support behind with wingers. He is a very good manager and doesn’t seem to get enough credit. Underrated for sure. I’m sure that after WC, he will have many suitors after him

Meant to type “Guardiola” not “Guardian”.

This genuinely seems like someone we’d get right now. But it would be such a bad choice
We need elite, top level players and managers.
Poaching from smaller teams is not good enough anymore.
We only need the very best of the best

Let’s finish this season first and then we can think about the next manager after the WC

Imo this is the ideal appt and in a few years the owners will be kicking themselves if they dont go for him.

Yes, Luis Enrique would be ideal but he’d be a solid choice. Sadly I fear we will end up with Maresca and more decline

I would not take him. Naglesmann was pretty bad at Bayern and showed us that he can’t handle a big club. I personally think we need a good transitional manger before actually getting Kompany. Because there’s no manager out there who can do or even come close to what Guardiola has at done at city. So anyone who succeeds him is set for failure. I feel like maresca will be the next manager, because I don’t even think the club is interested in Enrique or even Enrique is interested in the job atp and it’s just fans being delusional. Kompany will be a city coach but that time is not now and I think he’ll achieve something with Bayern before ditching his project. So it’s probably maresca or some other manager who wasn’t even discussed by anyone. However, all of this is only IF pep decides to leave which I don’t think will happen. I would like to see pep here but he needs to get his head straight first.

Nagelsman, Xabi Alonso, Kompany. These are the coaches we should entertain. Kompany is a 2027 option, which is preferred for me.
Nagelsman and Alonso are this summer options. I think they all have merit.

Nagelsman or Alonso for me. We have to be honest with ourselves Kompany isn’t leaving Bayern unless things turn bad. Idk why he would leave a top team at this point.

Almost certainly in the minority here, but i think he’s the perfect appointment once pep leaves. He’s not Vinny, so if and when he doesn’t live up to peps record he’ll be a nice pallet cleanser and we go for Vinny when he’s done at Bayern. He’s a fall guy.
On the other hand if he does perform remotely well, you’d happily keep him for a few years until Vinny is available.
And the third option is if he smashes it, he’s young and you can build a dynasty with him.

He’s in my top 4 Pep replacements for sure after Enrique, Kompany and Xabi.

No, we have a manager, but he can join his staff

He would be a few names down the list but would be fine.
