Axel Disasi has made it clear he would love to stay at West Ham after an impressive loan spell at the London Stadium. The big French defender has quickly become a fan favourite and many supporters would welcome a permanent deal.
But there’s a huge problem.
With West Ham already heavily committed financially — including major borrowing and outstanding transfer payments — the club may simply be unable to afford turning Disasi’s move permanent.
It raises serious questions about the club’s finances and whether owners David Sullivan and Daniel Kretinsky are willing or even able to invest their own money to strengthen the squad.
If a player who wants to stay and is already performing well can’t be signed… what does that say about the state of the club?
In this video we break down the finances, the Disasi situation, and why this could be another worrying sign for West Ham’s future.

Just before we left Upton Park, I remember thinking we should try to keep Alex Song, Victor Moses and Carl Jenkinson.
Obviously that never happened, even though they performed really well for us. I think their perceived value increased because they were doing well for Slav and ultimately that meant we were unable to do a deal to keep any of them.
I love Disasi but I think he will be like Alex Song, too good for us to afford to keep him.
Shame we can't sell Kilman and Fulkrug to pay for him.
If none of the top 4 favourites are drawn with eachother, we know its definitely fixed!
…so just exactly how drunk am i on that last day of the season…feverishly checking the results of spurs and millwall…ffs
If they getting loans out then they should buy high end players or get out training or other stuff upgrading so we can make more money also i just hope the bs goes when this season finshed
Kretisnky bought the shares as a business deal, hoping West Ham would continue the upward trend so he could sell for a profit. Sullivan won't sell as he makes money out of West Ham
Good video Gonzo. BUT you left out one thing on the “best case scenario “ for West Ham. You said West Ham stay up and win the FA Cup. Both true. But you left out Spurs going down. THAT is the best case scenario! Thank you for understanding! LoL
They ( the board) are soooooo lucky our status is still in the balance !!! there would be RIOTS if it wasn't imo … they are not listening or give two fcuks about the fans so its about time we removed them , or even lock everyone out of that stadium on a march/protest .
NO ONE COMES IN UNTIL THE SAME 7.500 TO 10.000 FANS THAT PROTESTED GET ANSWERS !!!!
base rate is 3% plus no bank would lend under 4% to 5%
We have to keep him
I dont no why westham didnt have a loan to buy option coz now there guna rack the price tag up
Disasi probably regained his self worth and confidence again no wonder he looks happy he’s very clearly part of the team ethic, well done son!
All in all it’s a complete shit show with the ownership, and the only ones that suffer is the fans
Fernandes, Summerville and Bowen will all be gone for definite, maybe todibo aswell
I think there are more sellable assets like Jwp, Edson Alvarez,German striker, kilman etc. Even the board members will be injecting some funds into the club if we stay up or not. We will be fine according to me. We don't have to sell our important players if we stay up.
Prepare for the summer sale,
That’s the thing, it’s energizing to be involved in a great escape this season. Bottom line is that from what you have described, we are guaranteed to go down next season. And possibly the season after. That is, unless the academy kids all become superstars in the next four months.
Also, it is 100% true that Sullivan needs to sell and needs to do it right now, but that doesn’t change our financial position. If the wealthiest person in the world arrives tomorrow, and they’re willing to spend everything they have, we are still in the same financial position. And the wealthiest person in the world is not coming to buy West Ham. Honestly, who would want to buy this club in the situation it is in, particularly since we don’t own our ground.
Kretinsky has already put his money into a shit-pit, for Sully. After seeing the figures, I doubt any businessman on this planet would want to further that investment. In fact, he is probably thinking – " will I ever see any of my investment returned"!
Disasi and Todibo are the hammers Maginot line. Only an enemy of the club would do a work around that.
Hiya gonzo mate I totally agree with everything you said the board needs to go asap I just hope use getting out of relegation and try to finish as far up the table as we can and have a good run in the fa cup semi final or final would be great for money aswell would all go towards the money were in debt with as our owners are cheap and need to leave
Was over the moon when DISASI signed mate my only worry was his lack of game time “. Settled in like he has never been away, Sullivan must be kicked out of the club & why is Brady saga dragging on when she was supposedly stepping down 2wks ago ! Going off piste 😊 owners owe millions yet they still receive there dividends when in reality they should stop taking the piss and put there own money into the club because the debt we owe is disgusting, rant over 😊 going West Ham win ( odds 21/10 madness with Brentford 5/4 😂 ) COYI
6:28 he also said that's true of most clubs in the league, I watched that interview and a lot of it sounded like it's relatively normal stuff (that doesn't mean good). We've been having to sell players we don't want to sell for years whether it's because we need the money or not is irrelevant to me.
Sullivan is nothing but a two bob crook if he does not sell and sell to someone with the CLUBS intrests at heart, just go you little maggot everyone including media know how corrupt you are now.
Shouldn't the chief financial officer , Andy Mollett, also be held accountable?
U keep saying Sullivan cant afford to run the club anymore, he can.. he just doesnt want to. Thats the difference. He would rather we financially crash and burn than him put any money in to this club. The quicker he effs off the better the little rat.
There are hardly any buyers out there.
But who, of those v few, in their right mind would buy West Ham?
NONE!
We have nothing to sell as a going concern that isn't already mortgaged to the hilt…including future income.
We have NOTHING except debt.
If we sell the only assets left, the team, then we're no longer a going concern.
SO, we're stuck with that credit card junkie, Sullivan, until we go out of business…
"Sullivan needs to go" is meaningless because there's no one stupid enough out there to replace him.
Conclusion:
We're fuc**d. We're toast. We're finished. We're done.
All we're witnessing now, is a club in its death throws.
But people don't realise, especially the media!
I ask you; what / who can REALISTICALLY stop this train permanently hitting the buffers? Because I just can't see it…
Please, please show me there's a REAL and PRACTICAL way out…
Why are we so broke:according to ‘The FA’s’ website all teams competing in fifth round of FA Cup receive £120,000 as a broadcast fee and winners receive £238,000.
Sell soucek kilman buy disasi
Every time the dwarf says we are skint & every time it turns out to be BS. He just doesn't want to inject any of his own money into the club which means we will most likely sell players to generate the cash.
Chelsea dont rate him at all as their fans think he is crap. They have a Dozen defenders. Offer them £15-18mil and think they would take it. They just see us as desperate right now. If they dont get CL then they would need the money. If we are going to lose Bowen or Summerville which I hope we don't but would give them first choice if they gave us Disasi as part of the deal. Damage limitation. This is only if we have to make some money first and if we have no choice but to lose a top player to make some money. Sell Kilman to Wolves for half price lol but we'd be lucky to get 10mil for him now.
Gonzo, win the FA cup and get relegated, or stay in the league and not win anything? What would you pick?
For tonight and the cup. I would not risk any 1st team players that we can't afford to lose through Injury. Prem survival is priority. Give the young players some game time like Ajala, Lamadrid, Kante, Potts, Fearon, Orford, Mayers. Let Kilman play to try and give him some value to allow us to sell him. Let players who are usually on the bench to get some starting game time. Use Summervile, Bowen etc as bench players to help change game in last 15 mins if needed. Nothing is worth losing Prem status for.
Happy to be completely wrong with Disasi, thought he'd be a disaster. Seen him have some shockers for Chelsea but he's been great for us. Not often it works that round for us does it. 😂
Good luck at Everton next season, Axel 👍
Jail the board, jail the board, jail the board
Surely we can shift our deadwood first? Alvarez, Ward-Prowse, Fullkrug, Kilman, Cornet. Should be able to raise more than £25m by selling them, even with Sully doing the deals.
Sell Fulkrug, Killman, Alvarez and Ward-Prowse – the players that are not in this team, and whose departare won't affect the good work thats been done.
Sell max cornet , fullkurg and if needed Edison alvarez will be enough To buy disasi
Heard it here first: Summerville and Todibo go in the summer. Bowen and Fernandes stay. If we buy Disasi, he starts with Mavro next season!
Banks only loan on secured assets. They won't lend to us as everything is mortgaged.
How the hell can West Ham be broke when they play in a tax funded Stadium, and pay peanuts rent.Where's all that match day revenue going.
Things always start looking up with a caveat.
When he says sell a player. Which players are you referring to? Could it be players we WANT to sell? I'll be disappointed if and when it happens.
just loan him again
how many clubs can afford to pay +20m and 100k/wk wages for 4 years for a 28 year old defender?
he's going to be available for loan again and he'll want to some to west ham because he knows he'll start
and he'll want to win the europa league with us
They have loads of money theryre lying because they want to cash out
Bloody tnt I didn’t see the second half so annoying
This utter recklessness, incompetence and uncontrolled profiteering needs to be properly regulated ASAP.
Other industries of comparable turnover are already regulated to protect the industry from such practices and the kind of people that engage in them. They're far from perfect, but they're far better than this.
Football, thanks to the culture of banditry created by FIFA and the gentleman's club culture of governance remains firmly in the Wild West where anything goes.
Strong regulation against these immoral practices cannot come quickly enough.
For WHUFC it may come too late.
If these parasites will not leave of their own accord, they must be forced out. If not by the supporters then by a powerful and genuinely considerate regulator.
I won't hold my breath though, if the people in Westminster really had a care, this would've been implemented years ago.
The new independent regulator is more likely to be another impotent government box-ticking exercise than a game-changer for the national sport.
I hope I'm wrong……
If we stay up, with the reward money for 17th place in the prem, any idea how much of that debt it would cut into?
you forgot to say who is going to buy us
A great club with great supporters ,run by Baroness Brady of the apprentice if she came to herself with ith her record at West Ham she would laugh. A pair of jokers running a football club.
