He’s rumoured to have said he’s “obviously disappointed”

There has never been a more “it’s so over/we’re so back” footballer than James Tavernier.
Dragged Rangers out the shit so many times and then ploughed them right back into it the next game.

Please elaborate – I’d like to hear more about said Rangers heartache.

I do laugh at the outrage by our fans that hate his presser comments.
He is media trained and experienced enough to not fire into people, call them out, say exactly how pissed off he is otherwise he would be getting sanctioned and fined.
I think some of our fans long from the players and managers who would kick shit out of the doors (given the kicking our away end toilets took last week, maybe that’s not such a great idea) like they want a shouty scary captain when those days are pretty much gone

Oh, are we back to the “never a rangers captain” stuff ?

When will rangers finally move on from him? Brilliant player when it often doesn’t matter but his arse falls out so often. He is no captain, not with such a weak will.

The irony of the amount of pens he has scored, for him to then balloon that one will never not be comical to me

Think Goldson hit the nail on the head with Tav a few years ago. People won’t start appreciating him till he’s gone.
I get he’s not got a great trophy haul etc, but he’s absolutely been a great leader. The amount of rebuilds we’ve done in the past 10 years and he’s been the only constant. Also performing consistently and rarely ever injured.
He’s obviously declining now because of age, but I think he’s been a lot better than he gets credit for due to having nothing to show for it.
6 managers saw fit to keep him as captain. Surely if he’s as shite as all the da’s say, at least one of them would’ve stripped him of it.

A player who broke so many individual records, captained the club in a major European final and was inducted into the hall of fame whilst still playing.
Yet he will leave Scottish football after 10 seasons with probably only 3 major winners medals to show for it. Its no surprise hes feeling broken.
I get all the “captain disappointed” banter that goes on, and I’ve used it many times over, but personally ill be glad to see the back of him. He got Rangers out of jail so many times with them free kicks and penalties.

There’s 9 games left and a league to win man. Get on with it. One cup game against Celtic isn’t everything.

I thought maybe he’d found out that Dumbarton not only made it from 1872 to present day without dying (unlike another Scottish team), but they’re also responsible for Rangers heaviest league defeat of 6-0. That would be disappointing.
