The way that game was played, this guy would have been caught offside half a dozen times and he'd have been clean through on goal half a dozen times. The easiest handful of those chances he'd have sclaffed into the stand, and the most difficult couple he'd have put away.
I always said this even back at the time, people focused so much on the chances he missed without appreciating how big a role he played in the chances existing in the first place. We don't have anyone missing Dessers style chances these days – and it's not because our strikers are more lethal, it's because they're not getting in positions to have those sorts of chances.
I'm not the first person to say this, we're too one dimensional when it comes to going forward. The number of times yesterday we won the ball back high up the pitch and had them out of shape was brilliant – but then we never did anything with it because there's no one taking risks. I like the look of Naderi and think he's going to be a good player for us, but we need someone doing something a bit different as well.
Think how often you used to see Dessers breaking free in moments like that for a one-on-one with the keeper. You never had much faith he'd find the net, but right now nobody's doing the first part so there's no chance to miss.
Hopefully something we can address in the summer, cause I think we've got a lot right at the moment and if we were just a wee bit more creative / riskier in the final third, we'd be pretty damn strong.

Needed him all season. Made a mistake selling our only goalscorer before new players settled. If he’d been around and less dependency on others they could have settled in and the he could have went in January.
You should be joking. Fawning over a substandard player. 9 clear chances at Dundee before he scores a goal he shouldn’t score. That sums him up.
You should be joking because Rangers main issues are the lack of creativity from midfield and the wings.
We are a chronically terrible football side
Very flawed player, but he was definitely more effective as a goalscorer than any of the current three forwards.
He’s not doing great in Greece right now. Started only 2 games all season.
Rangers did swap Dessers and Igamane for Chermiti and Miovski for almost the same money. Bad move
50+ goals in the time he was with us.
And, as I said at the time, where were those goals gonna come from if we sold him….?!
Cerny gone.
Dessers gone.
Igamane gone.
Call me old-fashioned, but goals win games 🤷🏻♂️🤯🤬
For me I do think Chermiti and Naderi have potential but we don’t have an old head like Defoe who will just pop up with a goal. I think Miovski deserves a chance up top with a partner. He is the most natural finsher we have in the team.
52 in 116. He met the minimum standard of a rangers striker, and none of the current lot come close.
Chermitti, Miovski and Naderi hopefully have some eventual upside, but they currently returning the same as someone like a Lafferty or Steven Thompson, who were both quite rightly our third choice strikers when they were here.
