I still don’t understand why the board let this young boy leave. From what we’ve heard, Xabi actually wanted him to stay.

Meanwhile we kept players like Ceballos who barely get 15 minutes and look overloaded whenever they play. And now Modrić is showing at Milan that he still has the quality and composure we’re clearly missing in midfield. Not even looking for replacements and bought Mastantuono for 45 million.

I get what you’re trying to say

But the bigger point is how haven’t we really replaced Modric or Kroos

Regardless of how good Modric like plays at 40, 41 42

We’d still eventually need to look for a long term replacement anyways

But ya maybe Modric could have stayed a couple seasons more but my point is it would just be a bandage not a clear cut solution.

Good midfielders like Kroos and Modric are like buffs in a video game, you don’t see them but they make everyone around them better by making Attack and Defense better.

While our current midfielders Jude, Arda, Cama, Tcho, Fede aren’t technical and make everyone around them worse.

Vini and Mbappe would not be this bad if our midfield could hold the ball and playmake.

Because Perez wanted to give the 10 to mbappe and more minutes to Arda.

    Also, Perez is stupid.

  4. You would have one more year of Cama and Guler warming bench. Modric would again play all big games, Because obvious quality difference.

And that’s not good for marketing

  5. madrid fans were complaining for him playing more than Arda last season, they were calling him grandpa, now they are missing him

  6. I think the biggest problem if Modric stayed was I think he said he wanted the youngsters to get their minutes. Imagine having Modric on the bench never getting subbed in unless half the team is injured smh.

Sometimes you have to respect a players wish. Especially if he’s a club legend.
