He gave us some of the greatest memories but it was time for him to go. The mistake was not replacing him with a younger winger of similar profile who would give pep a different type of play style compared to the existing wingers at the club who all like to invert. Let's hope we learn from this error because a similar situation costed us in 2019/20 when we choose not to replace Kompany and stick with only 3 first team centre backs.

Yes in my perfect world Sterling would stay at City and strive off the new system with a. Dedicated number 9. We literally screwed him over in his last two season on the field by using I’m on the LW,RW and num 9 position in every game. It’s as if he was the only one that we could live around any of the forward position when we substitute on/off someone like Foden, Mahrez, Jack, etc. we asked too much of him across three position. No one strives in the false 9 for us, I remember we even use Foden and KDB in that position and it just never worked they were awful, but yet we put Sterling there and yes he missed 3 score 1 and then have to deal with city fans 🤷🏽‍♂️. I don’t knw what happen behind door but it obvious the club not intentionally I presume was just killing the guy when he was at his peak. Then we went and buy Jack for 100 Mil and we’ll that for sure ain’t gonna work.
