Without ever downplaying racism or any form of discrimination, which must always be condemned, we are still talking about a 20-year-old and no one truly knows what was said, so rushing to publicly execute someone for entertainment or digital dopamine does not make the world more just.

I come from a generation where certain insults in the heat of the moment were often just stupidity or bad manners rather than a statement against homosexuals, and perhaps more calm would serve the fight against discrimination better than immediate moral outrage.

If you call people names, it doesn't matter if it's about the color of their skin or the color of their hair, their height or weight, or their big ears, big nose or teeth. One is no more disrespectful, offensive or harmful than the other. The only difference is that we have a name for some of them. Black people do it just as much as anyone else.
