From fan zones to neighborhood watch parties to street fairs, we are investing in the communities and small businesses that make New Jersey extraordinary. The World Cup is coming to our state — and we are going to make sure it belongs to New Jerseyans first.”

This initiative’s plan is to support communities across the state while investing in small businesses, cultural associations and community nonprofits.

A fan fest is still planned for the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens from June 17-28, and a fan village is scheduled for Manhattan’s Rockefeller Center from July 4-19.

Is why Jersey changed theirs apparently.

  3. What a messed up World Cup. The only “good” thing about this is that ticket prices might normalize for us Americans.

I tried to get tickets for a Miami game. Regular seats were only available by entering a lottery, which I nor anyone I know was able to win. I heard even the lottery seats were around $1000 each if you did win.

The only tickets available to purchase were hospitality tickets. These come with vip access to food and bar locations inside and outside of the stadium (food and drinks NOT included). The cheapest of these tickets available was $3000…for one ticket. The higher tier hospitality tickets were up to $10,000 per ticket. Shameful shit.

  5. If it’s anything like the CWC, they’ll be happy to hold the line on the price, even if that means some games don’t have as many people there.
