Stewart, 29, missed last weekend’s 3-1 win at Sheffield Wednesday with muscle tightness, having already played twice in a three-game week.
But there are no fresh fitness concerns for the Scottish striker, who has struggled with injuries at Saints and is being managed accordingly.
The St Mary’s side will be without widemen Welington and Jay Robinson at Fulham, with this weekend’s game coming too soon for a duo nearing returns from injury.

“Jay and Welington are still going to take a little bit longer, but Ross is going to be involved, so that’s a positive. It was just tightness on Saturday,” Eckert confirmed.
Welington has been out since sustaining a knock in Southampton’s thrilling 4-3 comeback win at Leicester City, while Robinson has been dealing with a persistent issue.
Goalkeeper Alex McCarthy also remains out injured after wrist surgery. Mads Roerslev has been ruled out for the rest of the season following an operation on his Achilles tendon.
