This is stonewall and always gets given if the goalie makes contact whilst the ball is still in play (even if the attacker won’t get to it).

See Liverpool game for a recent example.

I actually think the rules are soft and should take into account how likely the attacker is to get to the ball. But under the rules as they are (rather than what I’d like) this is a clear pen for me.

  2. heard them say he dived on the broadcast too there’s an angle where the contact is even more clear, they let people mug him because hes a tank

He has left his leg a bit there to get the contact. I’m okay with it not being given.

In real time I thought Erl dragged his leg and would be damn luck if we got it given. But then the camera from behind his back shows clear contact, so I have no idea how it didn’t get at least looked at by VAR. If you don’t give it, then that’s a definite yellow, so…

The fact that we left it in the hands of these terrible PL refs is the problem.

Show the urgency we showed in the last few minutes, make better starter decisions, make better subs, better crosses in…

We weren’t good enough, regardless of poor officiating.

None of the penalty claims were stonewall for me. Would’ve been nice to get bailed out but it would’ve just papered over the cracks and prolonged us eventually and deservedly dropping out of the title race. I’m also so sick of people crying corruption against us. You sound like Arsenal fans. The referees are just absolutely awful and every team gets decisions for and against them. It evens out over the course of a season. There is no agenda against us or anyone.

If I’m being honest it looks to me like our man drags his foot a little, he probably could have leapt over this and gotten to the ball. I know it still gets given sometimes but I don’t really think it should be.

Let’s say this was Donnarumma against Igor Jesus, I’d say it was super soft

But but but r/soccer told me,
no, in fact, they reassured me that there was undeniable evidence that we were buying refs???

  9. Just a question bcs I can’t think of an example of the top of my head but have we ever seen Haaland score a game winner for city that was after the 75th/80th minute?

Even if it was and it wasn’t we still should’ve won this game no excuses tbh just lacked a lot from this team man
