Caitlin Foord, Kim Little, Alessia Russo and Olivia Smith are all up for our Women’s Player of the Month award for February, and you can cast your vote now to help your favourite win!

We started the month as we intended to go on by beating Women’s Super League leaders Manchester City 1-0 at Emirates Stadium, handing City their first loss since the opening day of the season.

After starting the month off with a huge win domestically, we carried our good form into Europe, beating OH Leuven 4-0 in Belgium and 3-1 at Meadow Park to cruise into the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-finals.

We then finished off the month with a dominant 3-0 win over Women’s Championship side Bristol City in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup, setting up a quarter-final tie with Brighton in April.

caitlin foord

Before heading off to the Women’s Asian Cup with Australia, Caitlin made sure to make her mark in February.

The winger played the full 90 minutes in our 1-0 win over City, making a number of important defensive contributions, as well as maintaining her usual high level of threat down the left wing.

After sitting out of the first leg against OH Leuven, Caitlin returned to the team for our final two games of the month against Leuven and Bristol City, and won a penalty in the second half of each game at Meadow Park.

Our Australian looks to have taken her positive form into her international duty too, assisting the only goal of her country’s 1-0 win over the Philippines in their opening group stage game.

KIM LITTLE

February saw Kim achieve a memorable accolade, as she made her 400th Arsenal appearance in the first leg of our Champions League knockout tie against OH Leuven.

Having run the show from midfield in our win over City a few days before, Kim came off the bench in the 82nd-minute in Belgium to join an exclusive club of players to represent us 400 times.

After coming off the bench once again in the second leg, Kim was back in the starting XI for our FA Cup clash with Bristol City, and set us on our way to victory with the opening goal.

alessia russo

February has been another impressive month for Alessia as she continued to deliver consistent performances both as a number 10 and a line-leading striker.

Our no.23 put in a determined performance against Manchester City, taking to her relatively new midfield role comfortably, before coming off the bench to score against OH Leuven in Belgium.

After impressive performances in midfield, Alessia was back up front for the second leg of our Champions League tie, and scored twice in a 3-1 win over Leuven to ensure we progressed to the quarter-finals.

The second of Alessia’s goals was her 50th in Arsenal colours, marking another milestone in her Gunners career.

olivia smith

Like Alessia, Olivia found herself in a new role at the start of February, and just like Alessia, Olivia has excelled in her role.

The month started with a bang for the Canadian as she started up front and netted the only goal of our 1-0 win over Manchester City at Emirates Stadium, rounding the goalkeeper and finishing calmly.

Our no.15 was deployed up top once again in the first leg against OH Leuven, and found the net to finish off a fantastic team move to double our advantage in Belgium.
