TEAM NEWS COMING SOON!
-
Following their 2-1 victory at Stamford Bridge earlier this season, Aston Villa are looking to complete a league double over Chelsea for the first time since the 1989-90 campaign.
-
Chelsea are winless in their last two Premier League visits to Villa Park (D1 L1), having won five of their previous six games there prior. The Blues haven’t lost consecutive away league games at Villa since losing in 2002-03 and 2003-04 under Claudio Ranieri.
-
Having won their last two Premier League matches against Chelsea, Aston Villa are looking for three league wins in a row against the Blues for the first time since a run of four between 1978 and 1984.
-
Since the start of last season, Aston Villa have not lost any of their seven Premier League games played on a Wednesday (five wins, two draws).
-
Chelsea have lost eight of their last 10 midweek (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) away games in the Premier League (W2), including both in 2025-26 so far, going down 3-1 at Leeds in December and 2-1 at Fulham in January.
-
Villa have won just two of their last eight Premier League games (D3 L3), netting just five goals in this run (0.6 per game). The Villans had won 13 of their previous 15 before this (L2), averaging 2.1 goals per game.
-
Chelsea’s João Pedro has been directly involved in five goals in five Premier League appearances against Aston Villa (2 goals, 3 assists) – against no side has he been involved in more in the competition.
-
Villa’s Ollie Watkins has scored four goals in his last six Premier League games against Chelsea, though all have come at Stamford Bridge. He netted both goals in their 2-1 win in the reverse fixture in December, with Anwar El-Ghazi the last Villa player to score home and away against the Blues in a league season (2020-21).
-
No team has scored in more different Premier League games than Chelsea this season (26), with the Blues’ only two blanks coming in goalless draws against Crystal Palace in August and Bournemouth in December. Chelsea have scored the most Premier League goals on the road this season (26).
-
Tammy Abraham, who scored 21 goals in 58 Premier League appearances for Chelsea, is looking to score in back-to-back home games in the competition for the first time since December 2019 when he was a Chelsea player – the second game of which was against his current side Aston Villa.
How are you feeling? What's your starting XI? Predictions? UTV!

Not excited for this one ngl
Just don’t lose, our defending was good enough to limit them to one poor set piece goal when we last played them and they had all of the ball and dominated for 60mins until Onana and Watkins changed the game. Do that, low block, and if it ends 0-0 then so be it.
How am I feeling? It’s been a long, long time since I’ve dreaded a match as much as this. I look forward to the all consuming eternal darkness as we watch the exact same players trying to play in the exact same system yet again.
This game cannot be a loss. A draw will still be disappointing but its still another game where Chelsea don’t make up any points. A win would be enormous and a huge step forward to CL considering Chelsea’s fixatures. If we lose this, I am 90% sure that will be champions league gone.
Need the crowd to really get behind the team. They’re clearly sensitive to the fans, if we take out frustration on them only the football clubs loses.
I predict we will do the Villa thing and beat Chelsea after losing the games we should win.
I’m a brand new fan to both the team and the sport (from America), and I’m curious if all this pessimism is normal? Cultural, maybe? I know the loss against Wolves was rough, but I’m excited to watch this game tomorrow!
A line in the sand has to have been drawn. Win this and I think we’ve got one foot in the CL next season.
We CANNOT make a mistake with our starting XI and with our subs tomorrow. Tammy needs to start (the only player that looks like scoring) and we need to get off to a good start tomorrow. I fear for us if we start slow and the home crowd starts to turn. I have faith. Keep the faith. UTV
I just want to see some fucking fight after that rancid Wolves performance. For them to at least act like they want to secure champions league.
On recent form I haven’t got the highest hopes for this one, but there couldn’t be a better opportunity for us to regain some confidence before Europa League kicks in and we face another top 5 rival the following weekend.
As someone else has said, it would be typical Villa if we go and take 3 points from it. Let’s hope it does pan out like that.
UTV.
Feels like the most important game of the season, lose this and it’s gonna be tough to maintain top 5
