  1. Keep the powder dry and don’t make the same mistakes as Barto! Everybody sees the salary cap went up so everyone’s sticker price just went up correspondingly. Barca can be the easiest mark.

That jump is pretty big. Always wild how much the cap shifts the whole clubs strategy, even when the squad needs are obvious.

Do you know what specifically drove the increase, like higher revenue projections, player sales, or accounting changes from La Liga?

We occasionally write about how constraints shape strategy (salary caps are basically the ultimate constraint) here: https://blog.promarkia.com/

Damnnn. Plus if somehow terstegen leaves and lewa leaves we could potentially sign a cb and striker .

Hopefully we dont spend the 80M on someone like J.alveraz.

    Wow absolute wow

A 20% increase is no small thing. In absolute terms it feels even bigger since it is an 80 million increase.

Hopefully this gives us the leeway we need to sign a Centre back and striker (in addition to Rashford) in the summer. Especially since Lewy is likely to leave and his salary of the books would free up another good chunk of salary space

Even if we cannot sign big players this summer, i feel 2027 summer we should be able to achieve normalcy. Basically being able to sign 4-5 good players where 1-2 will be starters and rest will be good depth options

  5. This could be enough to have ability to get a cb and a new striker, if Barca either gets rid of Ferran or Lewa, they could have a pretty good avenue to sign Osimhen and some good CB.

If Lewy & Ter Stegen salary are off the list in summer. It gives us a 100M+ wage space for new signings

This means very little without context. In the definition of this salary cap, how much are Barca spending at the moment?

Also, it’s shocking where Sevilla stands in this. Way to destroy a European competitor for La Liga.

The key here is that this limit is still with a partial Camp Nou opening. Not only in amount of people, which will increase soon when they open the missing side, but also with limited time. The Camp Nou opened after the season started and more people were allowed months later. By the time summer comes around the Camp Nou phase one will be complete which will increase the income. That alone should boost the salary cap even higher.

For the summer you hopefully have a bigger margin, get Robert’s salary and some of Ter Stegen’s off the books, and sell Casado for 20 million. That should be enough for us to get the 1 or 2 main signings we need.
