to be fair it’s the only thing he can say really, and I am sure he believes it. Bit of a nothing burger really.

Works both ways. Amorim to me just seemed like a dreamer who had the ideas but lacked the nous to execute them at this level.

Must be tough to watch someone with barely any experience come in and do so much better with exactly the same players

Amorim would not have got the amount of time he got at united at any other top club in the top 5 leagues in Europe. He would have been booted out the door long ago elsewhere. He can have no complaints. He was stubborn, tactically one dimensional, inept and completely out of his depth. The fact that he didn’t even thank the fans for supporting him despite the god awful football and his shite “System” speaks to the character of the man. Again inept and completely out of his depth.

This is just telling me he is an egomaniac. Being a manager isn’t just about implementing your ideas and I kind of hope football moves away in thinking each new manager is entitled to a war chest.
He had a number of world class and he failed to get the bare minimum out of them.

He kept trying to force a system that didn’t fit his team, and that hasn’t really caught on in the Prem in general. The only other team playing a 343/3421 is Palace I think? And they’re 14th.
He was too stubborn, and refused to accept that his favorite formation wasn’t working. Tactically lacking any flexibility at all. He spent half the season trying to play Bruno as a B2B mid, which is just ridiculous at the best of times.
It says a lot that Carrick has come in and made them look immediately like a much better team playing a 4231. Gotta wonder how Amorim feels… Though I suppose he made millions out of the deal, so there are worse ways of getting fired lol

Hahaha at this point you have to think they’re doing this as a wind up on purpose
