Corriere dello Sport (aka Roma Fanzine) today claimed that the refereeing by Sozza wasn't adequate, and tried to make it look like he favored Juventus.

Wouldn't expect anything else from the "newspaper" whose director last year claimed that Yildiz was a "small player".

This is just as an example of the status of Italian sport media toward Juve.

Even yesterday, during the Italian live, we had one of the voices on Dazn (Ambrosini) trying to claim (more like wish?) that there was a Gatti handball before the goal.

This is the english translation by Chat GPT:

Sozza makes mistakes with fouls and cards, Kelly spared

Not sufficient performance by Sozza, under the eyes of Rocchi: wrong from a technical point of view (several fouls not called or called the opposite way): Bremer on Malen, and that’s just an example; he should have disciplined Kelly.

NO PENALTY
Body-to-body in the Roma area between Koopmeiners and Cristante, the two face each other, but no foul play occurred.

RISK
Bremer clearly pushes Malen, who stays on his feet and shoots (the ball hits Perin’s face): if he had failed to shoot, it would have been a penalty (push from two hands behind the back).

DISCIPLINE
As mentioned, completely wrong. Because if the standard is (rightly) the one that led to the yellow for Wesley (stopping McKennie on the counter), it is not clear why Sozza didn’t do the same for Kelly (Pellegrini anticipates him and moves the ball away from him, which he added: imprudence, SPA, balance of the match) and especially with Conceição (half a tackle on Wesley who had passed him and was heading toward the goal).

REGULAR
Pisilili recovers the ball from Kalulu without fouling before serving Wesley. The 3-1 by Malen is fine. Kelly keeps it in play on the pass from Koné.

VAR: Di Bello
Score: 6
Didn’t have much to do.

I can’t believe that some people can be this stupid and still write on a national paper. Malen did make the shot, didn’t he? So why would you even say or suggest that it would have been a penalty If he didn’t shoot the ball? It’s like saying that Jesus wouldn’t be dead if he wasn’t dead, no shit?

  2. Of course no mention of Miretti clearly taking ball away from Pellegrini who dived to get a foul. It was in middle of the pitch but with few Roma players behind the ball referee stopped a good counter attack chance
