Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes is one of the names at the top of Manchester United’s summer wishlist to replace Casemiro, according to Spanish outlet AS.
Man United also have Sandro Tonali, Adam Wharton, Joao Gomes and Elliot Anderson on their list, but Guimaraes could emerge as a top target.
Casemiro has recommended the signing of the Newcastle star and is confident he has what it takes to excel for the Red Devils.
Guimaraes could look to leave the Magpies this summer, given their underwhelming 2025/26 campaign.
Newcastle are unlikely to qualify for the Champions League next season and are finding it tricky to convince the 28-year-old to sign a new deal.
While he is currently injured, the Man United board view him as a crucial player they can build a foundation for the future.
A move to Old Trafford could appeal to Guimaraes, who has repeatedly proven himself in the Premier League.
The Brazilian has bagged nine goals and five assists in 23 league games this term. He has notched 30 goals and 25 assists in 147 league games for Newcastle.
Despite primarily being a defensive midfielder, the Man United target can also play further forward. His creativity could come in handy for the Red Devils.
He is the perfect man to replace Casemiro, but getting him could prove tricky as Newcastle will be unwilling to lose such an important player.
Guimaraes is out of contract in 2028, and failure to get him to extend his deal this summer could play into Man United’s hands.
The Magpies could look to sell him this year if he makes it clear he wants to leave, and more suitors are expected to join the Red Devils in the race for him if that happens.
