Maguire, on the other hand, would play 85 minutes of Man Utd’s encounter against Crystal Palace before the 32-year-old was subbed off for defender Ayden Heaven.

Luke Shaw has started all seven of Michael Carrick’s interim Premier League matches so far, while Harry Maguire has done the exact same as his England teammate.

Goals from Bruno Fernandes and Benjamin Sesko in the second half on Sunday afternoon sealed Manchester United’s 2-1 comeback win against Crystal Palace.

Palace stunned United early in the first half at Old Trafford after Maxence Lacroix netted past Senne Lammens with a superb header from a corner kick.

Speaking to BBC’s Match of the Day, Carrick insisted that Shaw and Maguire were both taken off in the 2-1 win because they were not feeling their best on the day.

“They just weren’t feeling too well, so hopefully, they will be feeling better soon,” he said, as per BBC Sport.

Michael Carrick on Man Utd climbing the Premier League table amid the Red Devils’ Premier League top-four challenge

United’s sixth win in seven Premier League matches has moved the Red Devils to third place in the table and Carrick has played down his side’s current standing.

“It doesn’t mean an awful lot at the moment,” Carrick said.

“It is nice and we want to keep progressing. We came back from the goal so early and responded.”

United are level on points with fourth-place Aston Villa and Carrick’s in-form Red Devils side are three points clear of fifth-place Liverpool in the Premier League table.
