Top 8 Best and Worst Finishers in the Premier League – 2025/26

This ranking is based on xGOT – xG.

xG (Expected Goals) measures the quality of chances a player gets.

xGOT (Expected Goals on Target) measures the quality of the shots once they are on target.

xGOT – xG therefore estimates how much value a player adds (or loses) through shot execution alone.

A positive number suggests a player is consistently improving the quality of their chances with placement and finishing.
A negative number suggests underperformance relative to the chances received.

This metric focuses strictly on finishing ability — it does not account for movement, chance generation, or overall attacking contribution. As always, context and sample size are important when interpreting the results.

  1. Pretty bad stat if all the players leading the league in goals are among the “worst finishers”. Just punished for being strikers really.

Any stat having Haaland among the worst finishers in the league needs to be rethought imo
