  1. And the second foul doesn’t Happened if he wasn’t fouled. They should cancel each other out.

  2. Absolutely the right call (according to the letter of the law).
Absolutely the wrong call (according to spirit of the game).

I think people are mad at this cause obviously it’s a lose lose for both teams. And in the spirit/ moment of the game the emotions got flattered due to this decision

  4. So what if Haaland goes down, but the ball still rolls into the goal after Dom’s attempt to clear it? What’s the call then ….does the goal stand with no red card, or does the goal stand and Dom still gets a red?

  5. i just wish it had counted so it would be on highlight reels for years to come. i was laughing my arse off when it crossed the line.

  6. I could watch these all day, it’s really interesting.

With my City goggles on “BOOOO VAR, BOOOOOO THE REFS”

With my football hat on, obviously the right call.

Side note – ref needs to sort his cardio out, he’s blowing out his arse here.

  7. They got that absolutely right and it’s good to see the process.

The audio should be available for all televised games at the time.

  8. Said it at the time, and worth repeating. This was the only correct outcome. If that goal stands ‘”in the spirit of the game”, then it’s a can of worms in the face of people who want laws applied consistency.

And I keep forgetting the fa cup final where the gk pushed the ball by hand outside the box,

Nor the rashford not interference in play goal vs united

  10. People (and lots of them) says words to the effect of “the idiots at Stockley Park” and “it’s not VAR, it’s the people operating it”.

Well the VAR here seems anything but incompetent. Clear, thorough, calm. Deserves his flowers for getting this right imo.

  11. the fact that the ball went in regardless of anyone else..goal should have stood and the 2 fouls cancel each other out. especially with only seconds left.. no reason to give a red card and a 3 game ban when there’s no time left to attempt to score.

  12. Actually good review, I like that they are repeating multiple times their reasoning, makes sure they’re heads are focused and they’re not saying anything contradictory in their review. I wish they’d release the audio for more controversial calls too though.

  13. Still can’t wrap my head around Szobo getting sent off for denying a goal that actually went in, but if that’s the law then sure. Can’t convince me this wasn’t a complete waste of everyones time though given city were already up and there was no time left.
