I would have never thought that this would have happened.

Who’d have thunk that Herr Drumpf would end up sabotaging this competition without trying? Saying that, Infantino can go fuck himself!

We have a free stadium that wasn’t chosen to be used here in Edmonton. One of the largest in Canada. Just host a bunch of games there and forget about USA and Mexico.

This feels less like a football issue and more like a security and governance question. Major tournaments have been hosted in countries with serious internal problems before, but they only work when security is taken seriously and localized risks are managed properly.
Writing off an entire country ignores the fact that violence is often regional, not uniform. The real question is whether authorities can guarantee safety around host cities , not whether problems exist at all.

Considering they held the 2022 WC in a country right beside half a dozen conflict zones, and the 2018 WC was being held by a country actively invading another country. I don’t think they care about a few cartel folks throwing a tantrum over losing their boss.

Games will be sold out. Nothing to see here

You know, at least Russians sent in the cossacks to quell protestors and gangs during their World Cup. Yanks and Mexicans decided to escalate the situation
