  1. Not sure if it works with Wirtz in their team too. So important that we get CL football. From there, only a proper potential CL winning team is a step up. If we don’t get CL football, no chance we keep him.

  2. One thing that’s in our benefit is that you can tell from his interviews and how he speaks about him that he really loves working with Unai. As long as Emery’s here and we’re competitive at the top of the table, securing Champions League consistently, then I think he’ll stay.

  3. I think it’s highly likely he gets sold in the summer. Either that or we will have another excruciating year of trying to offload older players with little to no interest and getting stuck with one in one out.

  4. He’s going to retire at Villa after winning the Europa League, 3x Champions league, and 2x Premier League under Unai.

In the statue that comes after Unai retires from football in 2039, he will have Rogers and Maatsen helping him carry carved versions of the all the trophies.

    UTV.

  5. There’s so many questions you would need answers to before properly answer this question, and we aren’t going to know the answers to those.

Most importantly, Rogers seems to relish playing for the club and Emery. He’s being picked for England, and CL qualification may well be enough to fight away any suitors.

The unknowns really revolve around our financial situation and Rogers feelings on a big move. He isn’t a Villa fan, and may not feel obliged to stay longer than needed, especially if a giant comes in. As good as we are, if PSG, Madrid, Barca, Bayern or City came in, it’s understandable he may want that move. Also, we know there’s going to be a lot of teams interested. That would drive up any price for him. If a 120m + offer comes in, do we decide to cash in and rebuild?

I think we should all enjoy him while we have, would be nice to keep him but if we get a >100m bid then I think it’s hard for us to ignore.

  7. I think he will inevitably go this summer. We’ll get peak revenue from him and will need it to refresh our ageing squad.

  8. If the money gets stupid, I have absolutely no issue with rogers wanting to leave, as long as its not to a man united or a chelsea.

Emotionally it would be more like Milner than Grealish. Hes served the club exceptionally well in his time here and he has given everything possible.

He came in as a squad player for Boro who was having trouble making an impact in the championship (while doing okay in the cups) and when he leaves its gonna be for stupid money

He’s the main man here. If he went elsewhere, he wouldn’t be the main man.

Hopefully he takes a look at what happened to Jack and he’ll decide to stay here where he’s loved and appreciated.

He’s crucial to our success. We are not a side like bournemouth, palace or brentford who sells their key players.

If we wanna go to the next level we need to build the team around him for the future. Clubs will always be interested in him and as long as Unai is here and we get UCL he will commit another year. He is not the type to try and force an exit and sure he’ll end up going in 2 or 3 seasons but i think he stays for now.

  11. Depends almost entirely on if we secure champions league football. Until that’s decided, you’re gonna get a lot of these F-Tier sources spouting nonsense.

  12. This is all just pushed by club agents to unsettle players. Don’t pick up the stories and they won’t get they attention they crave

  13. Irreplaceable. No matter how much money we get.

He’s done so well for us and if he moves, I wish him well.

  14. He’s goo g this summer I’m resigned to it, let’s make sure it’s £100m+ and we’re in champions league
