Not surprised. That was one of the worst refereeing performances I’ve ever seen, and that’s saying something

So long as the linesman (who missed countless decisions too) is also out of action, this is definitely a good thing.

So they punish the one ref who messed up in awarding decisions TO Villa (fair), but **absolutely nothing** happens to the dozens of refs who have fecked us over? Unreal

Honestly, there were some bad decisions (mainly but *not all* in our favor), but I think people are going a bit overboard on Kavanaugh.
1. Our offside goal: not his fault, that’s on the lino.
2. Lewis Hall potential penalty: 50/50 for me.
3. Digne potential red card: I thought it was a yellow in real time. Yes, probably a red with the benefit of a slow-motion, zoomed-in replay, but it’s the kind of thing VAR was brought in to catch.
4. Digne handball: yeah, fair enough, that was just terrible referring.
5. Newcastle’s first goal being offside: lino again, though this was tough to catch in real time. Also not mentioned by anyone complaining about Tammy’s goal.
Most of these mistakes happened *all the time* before VAR, because human error. We’ve just gotten used to greater accuracy.

So they should, as he was absolutely terrible, genuinely would’ve felt embarrassed had we won that game. Linesman was bad too.
We do need to have a look at refereeing on the whole and how there have been poor decisions against us too but that game specifically was just so so bad that not one of us should be complaining about this.

Not worth making a post about it and this is relevant enough but yeah Newcastle got Man City because of course they did 😂
