It was a hard-fought win but Phil Parkinson’s side continue the cup run and are also in the mix for a play-off spot in the Championship.
Here’s how the players rated:
ARTHUR OKONKWO: Hardly had anything to do but made a decent save early in the second half. 6
MAX CLEWORTH: The defender added to his growing reputation with another faultless display. 7
DOMINIC HYAM: Has a big chance of being Wrexham’s player of the season, He’s been so consistent at the back. 7
CALLUMDOYLE: Also played a key role in Wrexham keeping a clean sheet. 7
RYAN LONGMAN: He’s not every fans’ cup of tea but the wing back always goes forward and it was his great cross that set up the Reds’ winner. 8
GEORGE DOBSON: Grew into the game alongside Lewis O’Brien in a new-look middle duo. 7
LEWIS O’BRIEN: Played a deeper role than he’s used but did a decent job in keeping Ipswich at bay. 7

OLLIE RATHBONE: He wanted a goal and came so close in another all-action display. 7
SAM SMITH: Should have done better with a second minute chance. Worked hard but didn’t really impress. 6
