Anyone else see this? Not surprising the atmosphere at the new stadium’s below what we want it to be when the club’s pulling stuff like this, threatening to ban someone for saying swear words at the players lol
We are consumers to a degree. I definitely understand the frustrations but we have been begging to be run like a competent club/business for years… cant run from it now

We are customers. When you attend a football match you are essentially buying a matchday experience from Everton. Not sure why they’ve felt the need to use that word as they also use supporter elsewhere in the letter but whatever, don’t see it as a huge deal personally.
Also we don’t know what ‘foul and abusive’ language means. Giving a bit of stick to opposition players is all part of the experience but there is a point at which things sour, especially if they’re screaming abuse the entire game as the letter suggests. It’s entirely plausible that this warning is warranted.

I’m alright with bigots being called customers rather than fans.

I mean hearing a grown man hurl abuse at Everton players for 90 minutes probably isn’t the environment we want to foster, interesting that you disagree with that. I would’ve liked the club to provide resources to counselling/ other charities overleaf though because it’s definitely not a healthy way of managing whatever problems this person is having if they feel the need to provide so much abuse that they’re getting “numerous” complaints.
I’ve got no problem with this letter.

On the plus side, the complaint of this post is the use of the word customer, quite happy that it’s not a post complaining that the original recipient (or the person in their seat) is getting yelled at for making it an unpleasant match day experience for the far more numerous people around them.

So the business is at fault for calling a consumer a customer correct? Thats what we are, we pay for the right to enter a venue that they own and see a product they pay to show, and consume drinks and food they provide. We are not going to talk about how and what offensive language that occurred that talking about banishment from the stadium. Priorities need to be put in place before we get mad about the word customer.
