Actually they are more fine than others unless they consistently qualify for Europe, EPL’s % is 85, a lot more forgiving than UEFA’s 70% . And even breaking UEFA’s % is only a fine and a warning the first time, but qualifying for Europe means more $ and can likley bring down the wage percentage

  2. We should just accept we aren’t allowed to pay good players salaries and gift them to the big 6.

  3. Being competitive in the prem costs money. It’s that simple. Teams with less revenue will have higher turnover ratios because they don’t generate as much as the big boys.

  4. The more that get close to the line in this respect, the better. Will pull them into our way of thinking of changes are proposed. Also makes them more like to propose the changes themselves!

  5. Both of them gonna be sweating if they have to deal with European bonuses at the end of this season, I think that’s what really shafted us for a bit too. Wonder what Palace’s bill looks like for this season as things stand.

  6. I like this. I don’t want players automatically leaving to the big 6 because they can offer way higher wages. Think about how much weaker United would be this season if they couldn’t get Mbeumo and Cunha

A higher wage bill strongly correlates with league placement so no surprise that other clubs are trying to increase their wage bills.

it’s why PSR and SCR are just a wage cap by the backdoor. There’s no way Bournemouth (with 12K home fans) can possibly pay more than 20K per week…so they are just there to give their players to everyone else.
