    £1k for running red light + not replying to the letter to identify the driver, so he could’ve avoided most of that anyway lol

    This is an example of why we should have a progressive fine system like countries like Finland. 1k won’t impact him again or make his change his ways but it would impact an average person quite a lot.

    Percentage based fine system is much fairer on everyone

    Has it gone up? Last time I did it I got a course and had to pay about 80 quid.

    He’s on £225,000 per week so it’s about 39 minutes of his salary to pay for that fine.

    If he waited at the red light he probably would’ve lost 10-15 seconds. Or way less than 39 minutes therefore it’s a bad trade. (My original maths was stupid)
