Kalvin Phillips is closing in on a deal which would see him leave Manchester City and join Sheffield United on loan for the remainder of the season.
There was interest from other clubs, Sky Sports News has been told, but Phillips is keen on a move back to Yorkshire to try to rejuvenate his career. He has played just seven minutes of football for Man City this season, in the Carabao Cup.
It’s thought Man City will still pay the bulk of Phillips’ salary while he is on loan at Bramall Lane.
