First goal was absolutely lovely tbf. Very happy it’s clicking for him out there so far, hope it continues.

It’s not criminal, it was necessary. This revisionist stuff needs to stop if you’re not going to add context.
Everyone agreed he was a poor option down the middle and we needed a better option to rotate Watkins. We don’t have the financial headroom to bring in additional bodies without moving someone out first, he wanted to leave for more game time. Done.

Given that we basically swapped him for Tammy (not literally but as in their roles in the squad) then how well Tammy does for us will determine whether that was a smart thing to do or not.

he never got to play single striker for the Villa, and for Roma, he’s putting in the right movements. when they play the long ball, it’s him they seek. good game, and he seems like a good fit. at least much better than Bailey was.
I’m so lucky to be both a Villain and a Romanista, but lately the list of players who have playd for both teams has exploded. it used to be Carew and Michael Bradley…

It’s actually sad how much some of you people are obsessed with him.
He just was not that good for us. I’m glad he’s doing well at Roma but he’s not our player ar the moment.
